The CORE Teen Adventure Challenge is a rewarding, healthy experience for teens and their adult team captain. Teams race through a strategically designed wilderness course which includes a series of adventure-based activities and teambuilding challenges and gives students an opportunity to practice leadership and life skills in a safe and fun environment.
CORE Educational Services (CORE) is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to serving at-risk youth by increasing and broadening educational opportunities for them in out-of-school-time. CORE partners with non-profit and for profit organizations, as well as schools and government agencies to provide programs that focus on arts enrichment, outdoor education, and college access.
With CORE Teen Adventure Challenge, CORE Educational Services aims to:
- Promote active and healthy life choices for teens
- Expose urban youth to the city, state, and national parks while gaining an appreciation for nature
- Use friendly competition to unite communities
- Redefine traditional power dynamics between teens and adults through play
- Get the private sector to support enrichment and recreation in public schools
- Encourage teens to explore new opportunities and gain new experiences by stepping outside their comfort zone
- Celebrate visual and performing arts
